Student Community Day: The Canistota FCCLA Chapter decided to help host a Student Community Day where members of the Canistota community came in to the school and taught the kids life skills such as how to write a check, change a tire, write a thank you and many more. Junior High and High School kids from surrounding towns came and participated in these events and even did a mock interview. Six South Dakota Colleges and Tech Schools also came and set up booths allowing students to talk and learn about possible future opportunities.
Fall Festival- Our Canistota FCCLA and FBLA chapters held a fall festival allowing for kids and community members to dress up for Halloween, paint pumpkins and participate in a number of games and activities such as ball toss, bean bags, bingo, bowling, and many more. The students chose to host our annual Fall Fest to promote family time to the Canistota community. They made the event a family friendly event with games for all ages, door prizes, and snacks to enjoy throughout the afternoon. |

Go Red For FCCLA - Go Red for FCCLA was an event the the chapter members hosted for students in school to promote a healthy lifestyle. They chose to Go Red because red is one of the official FCCLA colors and the color used to promote heart health. The students used this event to teacher younger students about what FCCLA is and how to live a healthy lifestyle. They did this by going into the classrooms to make healthy snacks and teach the students to be physically active. |
